Why I Started M.O.N.Z.O.L.A.
M.O.N.Z.O.L.A. was born from both heartbreak and hope. As someone who has walked alongside children grieving the loss of a parent, whether through death, incarceration, rehabilitation, or abandonment. I saw firsthand how invisible their pain can be. These young lives often carry burdens too heavy for their age, yet they are expected to keep moving, keep growing, keep smiling. I couldn’t ignore their stories. I couldn’t pretend their grief didn’t matter.
I started M.O.N.Z.O.L.A. to give these children what every child deserves: a sense of belonging, a safe space to heal, and a community that sees them, uplifts them, and walks with them. This isn’t just an organization it’s a movement, a family, and a promise that no child should have to navigate loss alone.
Our name stands for something bigger than us. It’s a call to action, a beacon of light, and a reminder that transformation begins with connection. Through mentorship, storytelling, events, and outreach, we’re building bridges between pain and possibility.
M.O.N.Z.O.L.A. is my way of turning empathy into action and I invite you to join us.

My journey with M.O.N.Z.O.L.A. is rooted in a fundamental belief: that no child should have to navigate profound loss alone. I was first drawn to M.O.N.Z.O.L.A. because of its mission to support children who have lost their parents in unfortunate circumstances. It is a heartbreak I cannot personally imagine, and I recognize that the void left by a parent's absence can be overwhelming, impacting everything from a child's schoolwork to their sense of security. For me, volunteering here is not just about giving time; it is about providing consistency. These children have had their world unexpectedly shaken. My goal, and the core of M.O.N.Z.O.L.A. work, is to be a stable, predictable, and caring presence in their lives. This is the power of M.O.N.Z.O.L.A. It’s a place that nurtures resilience. It teaches these young people that while tragedy may be part of their past, joy, growth, and opportunity are absolutely part of their future. I volunteer because M.O.N.Z.O.L.A. doesn't just offer sympathy it offers actionable hope and a path forward. They provide the resources, the training, and the community needed to help these incredible children thrive, not just survive. If you are looking for an organization that transforms broken hearts into bright futures, I urge you to support M.O.N.Z.O.L.A.
